Community Information about Citadel
Established in 1993, Citadel mainly has single family homes, but there are a few townhouse complexes along with a large low rise condo complex as well. With easy access to Stoney Trail, Citadel is a very popular community in the Northwest.
Location: South of Stoney Trail, between Country Hills Boulevard and Sarcee Trail. There is also a small section East of Sarcee called Morningside.
Shopping: there are cafes and small commercial areas in Citadel. The Beacon Hill Shopping Centre is on the other side of Stoney Trail that includes a Home Depot, Costco, banks, restaurants and gas stations. Crowfoot Crossing is also a short commute south of Citadel.
Recreation: There are numerous parks and playgrounds in Citadel including the Citadel Gate Park and Citadel Park that surrounds the Citadel Park school. The Bow River is about 8km away, with Nose Hill Park about 12 minutes away.
Schools: Citadel Park (K-4), St Brigid (K-9).
Transit: Transit buses connect Citadel to the Crowfoot LRT and downtown. Citadel has convenient access to Stoney Trail, Calgary's ring road.
