Capital Hill is centrally located and close to post secondary educational institutions, shopping, transit and park area. Homes in Capital Hill date back to the 1950s, but many of these are being redeveloped with semi detached infills. There are some new condo developments and purpose built apartment rental buildings as well.

Community Information about Capital Hill

Location: Bordered by Confederation Park and 16 Ave NW, with 14 St NW running through the community.

Shopping: Capital Hill is located across the street from North Hill Mall, and about 10 minutes away from Market Mall.

Recreation: Confederation Park is just north of Capital Hill, is more than 160 hectares and is comprised of the Confederation Golf Course, the wetland that runs between 14 St NW and 30Ave NW and is home to the Lions Festival of Lights. Bike, hike, ski and toboggan and bird watch year-round! The Calgary Winter Club is located near by and is a private club for families. It offers skating, curling, tennis, squash, swimming and rock climbing. McMahon Stadium is also a short walk from Capital Hill.

Schools: Capitol Hill Elementary and St. Pius Bilingual Elementary School

Transit: There are 2 LRT stations near Capital Hill – there is one adjacent to North Hill Mall, and one at SAIT.
