Bowness is a mature community located in Northwest Calgary. Located on the banks of the Bow River, it is easily accessible to the mountains and downtown Calgary. Bowness was founded in 1911, and features a wide range of real estate opportunities from houses on the Bow River to apartments.

Location: South of the Bow River and North of 16 Ave NW, just Northeast of Canada Olympic Park.

Shopping: there is a quaint mainstreet with shops and restaurants in Bowness, along with a library. 

Recreation: Bowness Park is one of Calgary's most popular parks, and provides outdoor opportunities for families year round. In the summer there is a wading pool, boat rentals, picnic sites and shelters, and pathways. In the winter, there is outdoor skating on the lagoon, crokicurl, cross country skiing, ice biking and an ice trail. Bowmont Park is across the river, and offers more walking and outdoor opportunities.

Schools: Bowness High, Thomas B Riley Junior High, Belvedere Parkway Elementary, River Valley School, Our Lady of Assumption Catholic, and Bowcroft Elementary.

Transit: Crowfoot LRT is about 8 mnutes away, with buses servicing both stations throughout the community.
